American College of Surgeons
Since 1967, Mercy Health Center has received continuous accreditation
privileges from the prestigious American College of Surgeons (ACoS)
Commission on Cancer as an Accredited Community Hospital Comprehensive
Cancer Center.

It is the highest level of accreditation for non-university hospitals
and identifies Mercy as one of the top cancer treatment programs in the
United States for inpatient and outpatient care.

Most recently Mercy Health Center was awarded
Accreditation with Commendation, the highest possible rating from
the Commission on Cancer.
Cancer Registry
In addition, Mercy maintains a Cancer Registry that serves as a basis
for monitoring quality of care, treatment outcomes and patient survival.
Staffed by two certified registrars, the registry database includes over
20,000 cases and is used to improve treatment and outcomes for patients.
Magnet Designation
In 2005, Mercy Health Center was named as a winner of the prestigious
Magnet award for nursing excellence by the American Nurses
Credentialing Center (ANCC), a subsidiary of the American Nurses
Association. The Magnet recognition award is nursing's top honor and is
accepted nationally as the gold standard in nursing excellence.
