Mercy Cancer Services
Inpatient hospital services
The clinical quality of your nursing care at Mercy is recognized as
among the best in the nation. Mercy Health Center is the first hospital
in Oklahoma to be named a
Magnet
hospital - the American Nurses Associations highest honor. Of more than
5,000 hospitals in the nation, only three percent have earned this
prestigious award.
In addition to clinical quality, Mercy Health Center’s 38 bed oncology
unit has consistently ranked in the top 10% of the nation’s hospitals in
patient satisfaction surveys, according to Press Ganey Associates, the
healthcare industry’s largest independent patient satisfaction
measurement company.
Thirty-one percent (31%) of nurses on the Mercy oncology unit are OCN
certified (oncology certified nurse) offering additional resources and a
higher level of professional expertise to our patients and staff. All
Mercy oncology nurses are licensed and attend specialized oncology
education that is renewed every two years.
All nurses who administer chemotherapy (100%) on the Mercy oncology unit
have also received special training in chemotherapy and biotherapy. This
training is coordinated through the Oncology Nursing Society, the
organization that establishes the gold standard of oncology nursing
practice.
