Quality indicators:

Why should breast cancer research be important to you?

Because one day that research will lead to a cure and prevention, saving thousands of lives. Research is just one piece of our facility’s entire program that represents a commitment – both scientific and financial – to the discovery, treatment and cure of breast disease.

Dr. Alan Hollingsworth shows off some of the blood samples that will be used in a national research investigation. The samples were given by Mercy patients.

Mercy Women’s Center maintains a benign breast tissue bank to supply research samples to the National Cancer Institute.

National research site for
breast cancer blood test

Looking for new methods
to predict breast cancer

Mercy is one of only a handful of tissue banks in the country focused on benign tissue. Mercy’s tissue bank provides tissue samples that will help National Cancer Institute researchers predict breast cancer and in turn prevent it. Learn more.
