Billing Q&A
Should I expect to pay my insurance
co-pay at the time of my office visit?
Yes, all fees including co-pays, deductibles
and non-covered services are due and payable on the date of service
unless other payment arrangements have been made.
Will you file my insurance claims for me?
Yes. As a service to our patients, we will
file claims for hospital and clinic-related charges.
When do I get my statement?
Statements showing the status of your account will be mailed monthly.
Should I keep these monthly statements?
Yes. Itemized transactions are not
duplicated on subsequent statements. If later you need a copy of a
previous itemized statement, a service charge is added.
If I have insurance, does that mean I
don't have to pay anything?
No, you are responsible for payment of
services not paid in whole or in part by your insurance. Charges not
covered by insurance are due when a patient statement is received unless
specific arrangements have been made for an extension of time.
What if I simply don't have the money to
pay my account in full?
Mercy Health Network is prepared to counsel
any patient experiencing difficulty in meeting payment obligations. If
you are unable to make payment when due, please contact our office as
soon as you receive our statement. Special arrangements can be made
where you agree to pay at regular intervals an amount based on your
financial resources. |
