Mercy Memorial Names Hanan Chief Nursing Officer

Hanan, RN, BSN, MS, has been named Mercy Memorial Health Center’s
vice-president and chief nursing officer.
Hanan most recently served as a director of nursing at Mercy Health
Center in Oklahoma City. Prior to Mercy, Hanan was chief operating
officer/chief nursing officer at Edmond Medical Center in Edmond,
Oklahoma, from 2003 to 2008.
In 1981, Hanan began her healthcare career as a cardiac monitor tech
at Mercy Health Center. She went on to serve as a floor nurse at Mercy
Health Center and various director positions at Edmond Medical
Center—from ICU to medical/surgical units, and oncology to outpatient
surgery. In addition, she served as interim chief executive officer at
Edmond Medical Center for several stints between 2003 and 2008, later
becoming chief operating officer and chief nursing officer.
“My goal has always been to foster excellence in nursing and I want
our bedside nurses and support staff to find joy in the care they
provide to patients,” said Hanan. “I am truly blessed to join Mercy
Memorial’s team and look forward to many years of service to the Ardmore
community.”
Hanan received her bachelor’s in nursing from the University of
Central Oklahoma in Edmond in 1987, later completing a master’s in
business management/administration at Southern Nazarene University in
2004. Hanan, who was born and raised in Oklahoma, will reside in Ardmore
with her husband Todd and their three children. She is active in English
riding at Quarter Horse shows with one of her children.
“Rhonda has served Mercy well with her evident experience,
compassionate spirit and strong leadership. She is a great fit for Mercy
Memorial because she already embraces the Mercy values,” said Mindy
Burdick, Mercy Memorial’s president. “She will lead our team of nurses
to uphold Mercy service every day.”
